In VOCs treatment, activated carbon adsorption is suitable for low-concentration and large-air-volume waste gas, while catalytic combustion is more suitable for medium- to high-concentration organic waste gas. Combining both processes allows adsorption concentration and deep purification to work together.
During operation, the activated carbon adsorption box first captures organic pollutants. When the adsorbent approaches saturation, desorption can concentrate the pollutants and send them to catalytic combustion equipment for treatment. This improves purification efficiency and reduces frequent carbon replacement.
Combined systems require proper control of desorption temperature, airflow, concentration range, and safety interlocks. For complex gas components or gas containing particles and paint mist, spray or filtration pretreatment should be added to protect the adsorbent and catalytic unit.
